The Weather....

Suzanne's picture

The weather in Edinburgh has been awful for the past few days, just when we were hoping to get up to the lotty and get some work done.

Managed to find some bargain seed potatoes in a garden centre in Falkirk - lots of unusual varieties. Purchased some interesting looking blue and burgandy potatoes so we'll see how those turn out.

SWAN PLOT 27th Feb UPDATE

Mike Ellard's picture

We have had to advertise for new families for the plot as we have lost some of the group as they have now found an allotment which two families have joined together on one plot , they all got on fantastically well. at least they have left with the knowledge to grow and wont be to much of a struggle.

Having just been given an allotment by our local council 12m x 9m I would appreciate any advice on how best to start my vegetable growing. The ground is of good quality having been used by a elderly gentleman for some years but is covered in weeds. I have been growing small amounts of veg in pots in the garden for a couple of seasons now but never anything as big as the allotment.

The Thoughts of Moog is my allotment blog, where I share my thoughts on allotment gardening and let my dog, The Moog, take the credit, since he doesn't have any thoughts of his own:
