Bindweed

Hi Fiona,
Bindweed is so called because it is such a bind.

Be very carefull with it, try and take all the little white root bits out of the ground, take all away from site or burn.

Maybe you could cover the worst areas with black plastic for year or two, this may result in the main roots to came to the surface looking for light, its amazing what you will find under there.

If as on my site the bindweed is mainly in overgrown compost areas keep it in check and work on it over the coming years.
If its all over your plot and you took it over in April, then you are doing something wrong!

Carefull digging!

bloomin bindweed!

Only one way to deal with this effectively and that is to loosen it out of the ground and burn the roots. If you leave even a tiny piece of this white root behind it will set off with vigor to invade all available space and strangle everything in sight.
