I've grown some broad beans on my windowsill and am currently in the process of hardening them off. I'm just wondering if I should pinch out tips to get bushier plans? Any advice?

pinch later not now

Let them grow for now. You can pinch out the tops later, when they get to about 18"-2ft high (or when they have set some flowers). Don't chuck them, you can eat the new shoots, they are quite nice steamed for a minute or two.

Also when it gets warmer, pinch off the top leaves if you see any blackfly taking up residence, they only like the new growth so this will keep their numbers down.

thank you

Lovely advice thank you. My last crop got devistated by black fly and I gave up on them. Will be on top of them this time. Cheers Moog Keeper.
