Hi a member of our committee has resigned we allotment holders have been told by the rest of the committee there is no need to replace him. at our last A.G.M. 6 COMMITTEE MEMBERS WAS VOTED IN are they right as we have three plot holders interested in the position. help please
The position regarding committee is that first you need a Chairperson then a Vice chairperson followed by a Secretary and a Treasurer.
Then you take nominations from the floor from members who have asked to be on the committee and you must accept at least one nomination from the floor as you need five to make up a quorum to run your organization.
But if you wish you can appoint more members for the committee i would recommend at least nine as you have to allow for some of your committee not turning up for a meeting etc and it helps to share the workload and gives all a good chance to air there views on the running of your association.
You must always keep in mind that you must have a quorum of five for any committee meeting if not the meeting cannot take place.
