Completely mixed up my Potatoes-Help!
Total newbie mistake, GROAN!
I've planted about 7 varieties to see which I like, but only one early.
I had little inserts with the variety of each potato written on it and a little 2 1/2 year old "helper" liked the pretty colours and gathered them all up while playing in the garden.
I can remember eactly where I put the Calypso, British Queen and King Edwards, I also have Pink apple firs a red potato and an early. I can see that the red one (can't rember the variety at the moment) has slightly purpleish foliage so I'm safe on that one. But I can't tell where I panted my Early variety. The flowers have appeared over the last 10 days so I'm due to harvest my first earlies soon if I can find them.
Any ideas about how I can tell?
hello again bob here , ive just been checking out my first earlies .not very impressed with the yield which i put down to my lack of watering. been too busy at home ,well by now yr first early sets should be well into flower so keep an eye on them ,when they begin to shed them thats a good indication they r yr earlies ive never grown any of the others so im unable to help with them, i like to stick with my kestrel / pentland dell which make fantastic chips .good luck bob
