Daily allotment thread
good morning, I hope it's okay posting this, I thought it would be a nice idea to have a thread about how our lotties are coming on, the weather today, our daily plans etc.
I've decided today is pottering about day, give my back a rest from digging and picking up the vast amounts of lager cans that were left by the previous tenant. I also think some armchair gardening may be on the cards as once again we're forecast rain. I can't wait for summer to start :D
Have a good day at your allotment and I can't wait to hear what you've been up on there today, cause I'm a nosey begger :D
I blog most days and I will be boring you all to tears if I write on here as well. Sadly I have been at work all day and haven't been down to the plot. I am having plot withdrawal, is that an official illness?
Looking forward to reading what you have all been doing though!

hi all,
no plot for me today, or yesterday for that matter! My mum has ripped her achillies tendon (sp?) so have been having to do a lot of helping out etc.
Will def get up there tomorrow, but as the liitle 'un will be with me, i doubt i will get much done. And know that there will be courgettes desperate to be marrows waiting for me! Lol
i honestly suffer from plot withdrawal too! Its funny just how much time i spend thinking about my plot when im not even there. Some people are attached to objects, money, their careers etc, im attached to my plot!

Honestly Mimmee, try having the plot at the end of your garden, it is never out of your mind or sight.
I pull my sons curtains in the morning and a quarter of an hour later I realise I have been aimlessly staring at the plot thinking about jobs that need addressing, looking out for unwanted visitors or just watching what everyone else might be doing over there.
Then I think to myself I will just go and open the greenhouse or take the compost down, or I see a neighbour over there that I need to talk to.
I constantly have this pulling sensation and the only time it is broken is when I am at work and can't see the plot through a window and even then I get home say hi to the kids and go straight down there! I wouldn't have it any other way though but it is nice to know I am not the only one who suffers with this complaint!
Today was my day off, but we have had visitors so I still have not achieved any jobs on the plot, but I did go harvesting for tea and Gary has dug a row of Anya's and pulled the onions and left them on the ground to dry, a couple had gone to seed, but they have not been wasted as the stems are now in a tall vase in the kitchen as I think they are gorgeous and far too lovely to go on the compost, only disadvantage the house may stink in the morning!!!
We did also go and visit the Ventnor boatnical gardens and if any of you ever come to the island this is a must to visit. It has a very warm climate and looks out over the sea, they are able to grow tropical plants and lizards even rome about like you are on the continent. My boy's love it there and we try and visit a few times in the summer, the best bit is apart from paying to park it is completly free.
I hope you have all had a nice day like me
Hayley
