Desparately seeking help for a day-old Allotmenteer
Hello
We have a 10-pole allotment, only got the key to the site yesterday. Yippeee! The thing is I have bags of enthusiasm but know nothing about how to start...well apart from digging the ground and weeding.
Would anyone be able to guide on whether I can plant anything now or am I too late? Would love to get some veg going... is that over-ambitious?
Any tips are gratefully welcomed.
Please help.

tumbledown Posted at 09:30 on Mon, 09/01/2008Hi Vinsome and welcome to Down The Allotment,
There probably are quite a few things you can plant once you've got your site dug - why don't you ask your question on the forum where a lot more people will see it.
Best wishes and good luck with the plot

Vinsome Posted at 20:16 on Tue, 09/16/2008Hi tumbledown, rodney
thanks for the advice, will look at the forum to pick up tips and ask questions.
managed to weed half the plot and dig up four raised beds and planning to plant some sprouting broccoli and cabbage among a few other things.
taking slow steps otherwise it can seem totally overwhelming.
Best wishes
