Hi

Juust lifted some elephant garlic which i have grown for the first time. I noticed the bubs have nodules about the size of a cherry amongst the roots and inbetween some of the leaf bases on the roots.

Any ideas what these are, if i save them and plant them later on will they grow into bulbs, if so i guess they won't be very big as they are much smaller than the cloves i originally planted.

regards

Eddy

Yes, these are called

Yes, these are called bulbils and can be used to increase your stock, though it will take at least two years to get a full sized head of garlic.
