HELP!!!!

Hi
I have just found the onion galic and shallots i brought to plant in Autumn, but couldn't find them at the time so I didn't.
Does anybody know if I am too late to plant these now.(Obviously once the snow has gone), or am i just best scrapping them and getting fresh for spring?
They are
Picardy wight garlic
Electric - red onion sets
Picasso shallots
Thanks hellsbells

you can still plant now up

you can still plant now up until feb,,but i would do it on a dry day,,when the soil is not so wet,

Not a problem, up until early spring

Garlic and shallots can easily be planted up until early spring, if you have had these sets arround for awile and have started to shrivel and have protection these could be planted up into pots or cells in compost and raised in greenhouse, frame or clotch, plant the garlic cloves deep in the pot covering right over, the shallots on the surface of the pot, if favourable weather, as we are due for more unsettled weather soon. if you put in pots these can then be planted out later. The same goes for your onions if planting out, but keep a few back to plant later to fill in the gaps in pots, plant the onions so you just cover the sets and firm in well to stop the birds pulling them out.

I've got some Picasso

I've got some Picasso shallots here ready to go in for spring planting so they should be fine. Just give them a squeeze and throw out any that have gone soft or powdery.

I grew Electric red onions from sets last year, but planted them in autumn so I don't know how they will do from a spring planting, I would guess they will be fine if the sets have stored well. My experience was they didn't seem to mature any earlier compared to my spring planting variety (Red Baron) and also didn't store very well, so I didn't bother this year.

As for the garlic, get it in as quick as possible as garlic needs a period of cold weather to get it going. They should all catch up but might take a bit longer to get to maturity than it said on the pack. You could always try a spring planting variety as back-up if you have a spare bed.
