Hi all I don't know if any of you still are on here

Hi all
Just a quick post.
I am getting some Baking Potatos, and there will be more than I can use.
If anyone would like a few they are welcome to have some.
If you do drop me a line on here, or drop a message into 7 St Audrey Green.

I also have an enquiry
why is it you should not grow Onions when you have Manured the Ground, and what would happen if you planted Onions in Manured ground.

I hope someone can help me.

onions/manure

Hello peterb
I find if the onion bed is too heavily manured and you do not provide enough phosphates and potash the onions tend to grow with thick necks and don't store very well.
Just a note there are commercial growers out there who have been growing onions ON THE SAME SITE FOR OVER 100 YEARS and still produce fantastic onions.
If you need to feed your onions use high nitrogen till longest day 21st June then change to high potash feed Vitax gives excellent results and is easy to use but its a matter of personal choice because there are many other makes out there.
Hope that helps

Thank you for your reply.
I am fairly new to having an Allotment, I dug half of my allotment last year and had a successful crop for the first time.
This will be the first year I will be sowing the whole patch, and I'm looking forward to growing more Variety.
once again thank you for your Post
