lack of response
Hello everybody
It's me again , a disappointed old wrinkly.I just want to say that due to peoples lack of participation (with a very few exceptions) I shall cease posting on Down the Allotment site one week from today if things do not improve dramatically
It's a shame, its a good site that can still do with some improvements but if you out there will not support it then what's the point?
I've given out free advise from my 50years plus wealth of experience but if its too much trouble for people to give a few clicks to say anything or post a few pictures to show how they are getting on or have a moan about anything then its time for me to sign in and go elsewhere.
I would like to think over the last few months I have made a few friends and I would miss them greatly if I logged out for good
A disappointed allotmenteer

Don't leave lottyman, these things don't just improve overnight you have to work at them!!. You can not force people to post and not everybody is as outgoing as you, they maybe shyer and just like reading what people have to say.
What it is you always say there is always next year!
& I will miss you.
Hayley
Thanks for your concern Hayley
That's my whole point if people don't do anything there is nothing for anybody to read. I'm sure there are many many people out there who would benefit from our help and advice and friendly banter if only they would take the time to get involved after all everything is free people have nothing to loose and who knows what they may gain.
By the way did you send the private message to Ladylavender?
Thanks again
Lottyman
Hi Lotty man,
Don't be too despondant. This time of year we are tending our plants etc. and enjoying the outdoors.
Come the earlier nights we can devout more time to armchair allotmenteering - or should that be keyboard allotmenteering?
Brian
God help you all in the winter when I am totaly bored you won't be able to shut me up.

Hi all, i'm new on the site,i havn't had my plot very long, been digging for England, trying to get rid of the couch grass.
Please keep posting Lottyman,i need all the help i can get, being a newcomer.
I was going to put a pic on but havn't worked out how to yet :)
Hello Tricia
Welcome to the site. If you can upload some detailed photo's of your plot we will be able to offer you advice on the best and easiest way to clear it.
If the plot is badly infested with couche grass or twitch as we call it in Derbyshire it is not a good idea to use all your strength trying to dig it out.
Go back to the HOME PAGE click on FORUM scroll down to WEBSITE FEEDBACK click on UPLOAD PICTURES click then scroll down to SCARECROW click and there are the instructions to change the scarecrow under your user name ( Tricia ) into a photo of you or one of your choice. After you have done that repeat the above but instead of clicking on scarecrow go down to the next one UPLOADING PHOTOGRAPHS click and the instructions are on your screen.
When I first started I wrote the instructions out on a sheet of paper so that I could follow them to the letter, and hey presto! success.
If you have any problems tell me exactly what you have done and I will hopefully be able to tell you where you have gone wrong
Best of luck
Lottyman

Hello Tricia, and welcome :) i'm new here too, I just joined today, well this evening, late this evening, it's gone 11:00pm and I should go to bed really but I am to interested in looking around this site :)
I hope us newbies have changed your mind Lottyman, for me it's brilliant to have somewhere to come for advice and a natter with such experienced allotmenteers such as yourself.
So come on everyone, newbies and oldies, let's breathe some life into this forum. Even if you only pop on for a couple of minutes it will be great to hear from you.
Theresa
