got to be shallots for me.they look neat and tidy early on,they make great spring onions. So grow a lot, string up the rest to eat and use next year.Sounds like onion self sufficiency!

HELP!!!!

Hi
I have just found the onion galic and shallots i brought to plant in Autumn, but couldn't find them at the time so I didn't.
Does anybody know if I am too late to plant these now.(Obviously once the snow has gone), or am i just best scrapping them and getting fresh for spring?
They are
Picardy wight garlic
Electric - red onion sets
Picasso shallots
Thanks hellsbells

My favourite vegetable to grow is the leek.
It is very pretty when gron and the fact there is not much growing at the time it always stands tall above the cold ground

Spring onions

Spring Onions

I love growing spring onions. They taste good, look good and easy to grow. Spring onions grow well in most types of soil but i find that the space between each spring onions can determine the flavour. Too close and they grw tall with a small head, too far apart and they grow short with a large head.
