Books
Flat Cap Mad Posted at 23:25 on Sat, 03/21/2009I got given a book which is called The allotment specialist which I have found very usefull. Have a look on Ebay as there is always cheap books on there. Talking to other growers in your area is just as good though as they will give you more local knowledge.
Easy veg
newveghead Posted at 20:39 on Tue, 03/24/2009Hi Sibby - my first year I didn't know what i was doing really (still don't!), but the best veg on my plot were spuds, cabbages and leeks. Last year the fist thing I put in was pointy cabbages, and they were great. Garlic grew really well too, but its a bit late to put it in now - a good thing for november time 'though. Have fun on your new allotment!
