HELP!!!!

Hi
I have just found the onion galic and shallots i brought to plant in Autumn, but couldn't find them at the time so I didn't.
Does anybody know if I am too late to plant these now.(Obviously once the snow has gone), or am i just best scrapping them and getting fresh for spring?
They are
Picardy wight garlic
Electric - red onion sets
Picasso shallots
Thanks hellsbells

what to plant now?

I have dug up my main crop potatoes, is there anything I can put in there place now, or is not worth it?
and can I put Autumn onions sets in the same place of the onions I'm just pulling up,?
I only have a small plot

Completely mixed up my Potatoes-Help!

Total newbie mistake, GROAN!
I've planted about 7 varieties to see which I like, but only one early.

I had little inserts with the variety of each potato written on it and a little 2 1/2 year old "helper" liked the pretty colours and gathered them all up while playing in the garden.

Complete beginer and no idea

Hi all i've just managed to get a plot 68" x 25". The council ave just bulldozed the waste land to create more plots, I do work but get up there every night for an hour weather permitting and on weekends. It will take a couple of weeks to remove roots, tree trunks andsort out the boggy ground in one corner.I have decided to start with a section so i can start planting.

hello everyone,

Little Gem lettuce- what's eating it?

Total newbie, but the little gems planted 3 weeks ago are growing really well. The Outer leaves are clearly being eaten, they've got lots of holes in them. They're in a raised bed so no slug problems. I've looked at the underside of the leaves and can see no baby grubs or anything doing the munching.
What am I missing and what can I do?

Board beans getting big! Help!

I'm a total newbie, made three raised beds in the garden and started sowing things indoors. But the beans took off much faster than I expected. I now have triffids about 1ft tall and starting to twine around each other. The bed is ready with support, and I'm on the south coast. It's a south facing bed with a wooden trellis at it's back so it should be warm.

Help - allotment about to be taken

cazzabean's picture

Hi, advice needed. I was given my allotment in December and have been there every week digging it over, so far I have spent hours working it and removing roots to the point where I have all my March seeds planted and 70% is dug over and the remainging 30% is under a tarpaulin until I can tackle it.

Hi!
I am new to this website... and new to having an allotment! In fact, I got mine this morning!

A truly lovely site covered in brambles and weeds! I have a lot to do getting the site to a much more manageable state, but in the meantime, what should I consider planting that doesn't mind a few old weeds so I feel productive this year?

Help - problem clearing roots

cazzabean's picture

Hi, I have just got my new allotment and set about digging it over this weekend, 5 hours later I have an area about 3m by 1.5m dug over - the problem is that it was cleared by the council but all they cleared was the surface, underneath there is a huge network of roots some of them up to 3inches thick.

Reduce pH from high alkaline

Now several parts of my plot are becoming clear of produce I thought I'd start to look at liming / manuring so have purchased a pH meter - have checked over most of the plot and have found the pH readings are an average of 9 which is very alkaline - have been looking at what to use to reduce the pH and the only real thing I can find is Sulphur chips which are ok for a small garden area but very ex
