Hi Everyone

I bought 3 rhubarb crowns from a garden centre but failed to ask if they are ok to eat this year. Been reading that you shouldnt eat fruit in the 1st year. Do you think i should go back and ask garden centre.

ty bob

ty for offer of rhubarb, would love to accept your kind invatation but think it a bit far for me to come and collect seen as in Plymouth.lol. I will just have to wait till next year to enjoy homegrown rhubarb. Im learning about patience since getting my allotment, lol

Was just wondering if you have started anything off at home yet? Ive just done some more broad beans and some leeks.

Regards
Karen

late reply

hi karen ,sorry about the rhubard ,thought you were on our plot. would you believe i have only just got your reply, must be a fault some where it took long enough. well i have,nt started anything off yet waiting till 2nd week in feb when i will make a start . been getting greenhouse all cleaned up and finished my winter digging.also i had to empty my pond out last year as it developed too many leaks,im expecting my first frogs in 2/3 weeks ,i started a small pond last year ,then extended it and they went crazy i got the bigest load of spawn i had ever seen now lots of people are making one ,so ive started a stampede we,ll be overrun with frogs but it will keep the slugs down .hope to speak to you again in the future, happy gardening, regards bob
