Hi

Have just done a frenchbean trench. Dug a trench, lined with newspaper then put in stuff (yuck) from compost bin then covered with soil.
I am wondering now if frenchbeans/broadbeans or peas like this?
Although i hated doing the compost bit, would do it for my veges, lol.
Anyone got any thoughts?

runnerbean trench

Hi Karen,
I did my trench last year, hard work isn't it.
I put all the stuff in it that you are surposed to, I ended up with over 80lbs of runnerbeans. In the end I was giveing them away.
The veg: that like this are,
runnerbeans, frenchbeans,peas,leeks,lettece,onions,and beetroot.
Last year I put in some beetroot that I had over and they were the best ones yet. The side of a melon some of them. Very sweet too.
Anyway good luck and happy digging.
Gilly.
