SWAN PLOT UPDATE 19th May
Hello everyone
The plot has begun to look weedy although it is desperate for water, so watered seedlings showing Peas, lettuce, radish and the early potatoes in bags
Planted the comfrey which was kindly given to me from Mike Bush, also a thornless blackberry variety Black Satin, Mulched with some compost around our courgettes and the new plants to help retain the moisture till these get established.
Watered the compost heaps as these were too dry, to help regain the worm, activity in the compost. Taken some shredded paper down from work to compost as well.
The grass which the grounds crew dumped at the site has almost vanished keeping the weeds down which is brilliant especially the nettles, which are abundant around the plot, I will be cutting some to steep in water to make a liquid feed for the vegetables shortly.
If anyone has extra vegetable plants they don’t want please think of us or free packets of seed it will be much appreciated, as this scheme works on a shoe string.
