The Weather....
The weather in Edinburgh has been awful for the past few days, just when we were hoping to get up to the lotty and get some work done.
Managed to find some bargain seed potatoes in a garden centre in Falkirk - lots of unusual varieties. Purchased some interesting looking blue and burgandy potatoes so we'll see how those turn out.
This is the first year I have been organised enough to sow the broad beans in the autumn and it seems to be paying dividends as they've all come up and are nicely protected by the fleece. Garlic and onions doing ok as well.
Must remember to head to Lidl on Monday - lots of good gardening offers. Their rose arches are lovely and look great covered in sweet peas - although they collapsed last year under the weight of the runner beans which were out of control - won't use them for those again.
Looking foward to a good growing season but just wish we could get some decent dry weather to get some work done.
