Hello everyone! My husband and i recently took over plot 5 on national ave (and have yet to meet any of you- we're always alone!) and wondered what veg grows well in the soil we have? We still have a way to go until we're finished but we've started turning over some old beds so we can get started. It's all quite exciting!

First Time allotmenter! what should I concentrate on?
Hi Everyone
My family and I have eventually managed to get an allotment (plot 29) and are looking forward to getting digging this winter. Is there any advice any one can give us regarding setting up, getting hold of supplies/manure/pallets etc. We have 2 small children a 4 year old boy and a 2 week old girl is there anyone else with young families with ideas to get the kids interested?

hi everyone ,if anyone knows dave on plot 60 can u please contact him and inform him his greenhouse has been badly damaged by the strong winds we had recently leaving him with a lot of broken glass which can become a total loss in the next gale if its not seen to a s a p. regards bob plot 40

intrusion on site
hi everyone, just some info for all plot holders last night somebody cut another hole in the wire fence and got into the site on inspecting all the sheds this morning none were broken into but some thing must b missing as i had two dustbins which were used for mixing compost stolen , another couple on the back road also had a couple of bins taken and if anyone has lost a wheel barrow
scaffolding debris netting for veg
Now butterfly time is on us again, I wanted the fine debris netting seen on scaffolding around buildings. Caspian on Cleveland st sell 50m x 2m wide roll to allotment holders for £25 inc vat. Normal price is £30. various colours in stock, also 3m wide rolls. Screwfix charge £67 a roll for the same stuff!!

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to let you all know i arranged for Council to bring along some of their bark chippings, they have been dropped on plot 17, please help yourself to as many as you need as when they are gone they have gone!

lock problems
hi everyone just to let you know we having probs with the lock again nxt to the estate sometimes it holds onto yr key and takes a bit of force to release it or the key wont go all the way down ,b carefull not to put too much pressure on or you can leave half the key in the lock bob

hi everyone ,just to let you all know i managed to repair the fence today so its all secure once more i checked all the sheds while there and they r all ok .nearly time for planting again so its time to start sorting through our seeds to see what we need for the new season bob
