Hi Jayne I thought I would drop you a line to let you know that I have joined your group. I have a plot on Newland Avenue site. I think you met my sister and her family yesterday, they are new to your site. It would be nice to share ideas or advise.

hi in reply your queery about what to do, well if yr plot is still unworked then a good tidy up is needed before you make plans as jan/feb is usually a time to dig over roughly and leave for the frosts to break the soil down prior to rotovating in early spring when you put yr early spuds in along with other plants but it all takes time no doubt we will meet over the next few weeks so any probs and we are only too happy to help , regards bob plots 40/41

Thanks for the advice will do we do have an that we do want to plant this year so maybe we will dig out all the twitch and get ready for the planting.
When we rotovate will we mix in any manure?

hi paul /karen , yes manure is a good idea but please make sure its well rotted ,fresh is not required as it doe,s more harm than good. we have a good supplier at £30 for about 4 ton loads and he is a really helpfull chap ,i have his number so i will pass it on when i c u, if u need it b4 then u will find it in the window of my greenhouse plot 41 in the middle road bob
